School districts across the country are facing increasing pressure to protect students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment. From evolving threats to staffing challenges and heightened community expectations, school safety has never been more complex or more critical.

National leaders in school security consulting

Since 2013, Secure Environment Consultants has partnered with public and private school districts across the United States to deliver comprehensive school security assessments and emergency preparedness solutions. Our team brings real world experience from the Secret Service, Homeland Security, FBI, military special operations, and law enforcement to help schools identify risks and implement practical, unbiased recommendations.

SEC operates independently and is not affiliated with any security products or vendors. This ensures districts receive objective guidance focused solely on what is best for their students, staff, and facilities.

With decades of combined experience and thousands of school assessments completed nationwide, SEC is recognized as a leader in school security and preparedness.

Experience that shapes safer schools

school emergency preparedness training

SEC’s work in K–12 schools is grounded in both professional expertise and personal commitment. Our consultants have protected some of the most high risk environments in the country, but we are also parents who understand the responsibility schools carry every day.

In November 2021, SEC was called to assist in the response and recovery following the Oxford High School shooting in Michigan. In the aftermath, SEC leadership worked directly with state legislators to support funding initiatives that expanded physical security assessments for K–12 schools statewide. Through this work and our ongoing partnerships, SEC has helped protect over one million students across all fifty states.

A proactive approach to school emergency preparedness

While many schools have safety policies in place, far too many remain underprepared for real world emergencies. SEC helps districts bridge the gap between written plans and real time decision making.

Our comprehensive school security programs focus on prevention, preparedness, and response. This includes school security assessments that evaluate facilities, operations, access control, communication systems, and emergency procedures. Each assessment is tailored to the unique needs of the district and provides clear, actionable recommendations.
