What is a site assessment?
A site assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of your organization’s security posture. SEC helps you identify what matters most and implement realistic solutions that work in everyday operations. Our team will examine the following:
- Physical layout and design features
- Safety policies and procedures
- Staff awareness and emergency communication
- Existing security technology and infrastructure
- Emergency operations planning and training practices
Unlike a safety audit that focuses only on compliance, a site assessment evaluates functionality, effectiveness, and risk. The goal is to determine how safe your facility truly is, not just whether certain boxes are checked.
How the site assessment works
An SEC consultant will visit your facility and conduct a 360 degree review that includes:
- The surrounding area and external risk factors
- Internal and external layout and building access
- Physical and technical security features
- Review of emergency operations plans and staff training
- Existing safety and security policies and procedures
- Cameras, surveillance, and access control systems
- On-site interviews with key staff and leadership
What is the time commitment?
A typical site assessment takes approximately three to four hours per location. During a portion of that time, someone familiar with the facility will walk with our consultant to provide a tour and answer questions regarding policies or procedures.
Following the assessment, SEC provides a custom risk report outlining:
- Existing strengths and best practices
- Identified vulnerabilities
- Prioritized recommendations
- Cost effective security improvements
- Next steps aligned with your operations, culture, and resources
Our team will present the findings to your leadership or safety team to ensure clarity and alignment moving forward.
