What training courses are available through the eSEC Online Training Platform?

Critical Incident Response Training for Schools & Childcare Facilities

This course is designed to prepare staff to effectively respond to emergencies or critical incidents, such as natural disasters, medical emergencies, active threats, or other crisis situations. This training includes the primary emergency response protocols- lockout, lockdown, evacuate and shelter-in-place; tips for securing physical spaces and best practices for identifying threats.  Training also includes physiological response during an emergency, how to protect vulnerable individuals (such as students in special education settings), and how to collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders.

De-Escalation Training

This training specifically addresses the ability to reduce the intensity of a conflict or a potentially violent situation. Key objectives include how to recognize verbal and nonverbal warning signs of increasing aggression; how to build a rapport; how to manage your emotional reactivity and how to communicate effectively. The training goal is to teach individuals how to handle intense situations with the priority of keeping everyone involved safe.

Workplace Violence Prevention

Training includes the origins of targeted workplace violence, the motives and the behaviors to be aware of. Participants will learn how to practice situational awareness and the four main response options during emergencies – evacuation, shelter-in-place, lockout, and lockdown. In addition, our team will provide an interactive discussion on common physiological responses that occur during emergencies, as well as strategies to combat the potentially debilitating impact of those responses.  SEC also offers Workplace Violence Prevention training specific to SB 553 for California-based employees.  

Workplace Violence Prevention & Critical Incident Response Training

This course is designed to equip staff with the skills to prevent, respond to, and manage violent situations and emergencies in the workplace. The training addresses proactive strategies for identifying warning signs of potential violence, de-escalating conflicts, and creating a culture of safety. It also covers how to respond effectively during critical incidents, such as active shooter situations, medical emergencies, or natural disasters. Participants learn how to assess risks, implement emergency protocols, communicate during crises, evacuate safely, and collaborate with first responders.  Training ensures staff are prepared to handle both preventive and reactive measures in high-stress situations.

Crisis Communications

This training is ideal for your Emergency Management Team (EMT) or leadership team who will be tasked with overseeing the emergency operation plans.  In this course, SEC provides best practices and effective tactics so that your teams can provide accurate and timely information to those in need. Event Security Training for Athletic Staff & Coaches

In this course, SEC prepares athletic staff and coaches to manage and respond to security challenges during school sporting events. The training helps to identify potential security threats, and handling emergencies, such as medical incidents or disruptive behavior. Event Security Training for School Volunteers

This training course help prepare school volunteers to handle security responsibilities while ensuring a safe environment for student, staff, spectators, and participants. Volunteers are taught how to effectively communicate with event staff, direct attendees, and assist with crowd control, parking, and access points. Emphasis is placed on creating a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining order, ensuring that security measures are followed without causing unnecessary disruptions.   1. Your organization can purchase the annual eSEC online trainings and choose how many courses to load into the learning management system.  SEC will host these courses for you and help onboard your organization for a successful deployment of learning.
  2. If you have an existing learning management system, the eSEC courses can be directed back into your LMS system, keeping all of your employee trainings in one, easy to manage location.
